Need You Now what does it mean?

I work in retail, and I don't control the music that plays at my store, so I get to hear all sorts of music, most of which I don't care for, but some I really just don't get, like this song: Need You Now, by Lady Antebellum.

Picture perfect memories
Scattered all around the floor.
Reaching for the phone cause,
I can't fight it anymore.

And I wonder if I ever cross your mind.
For me it happens all the time.

It's a quarter after one.
I'm all alone and I need you now.
Said I wouldn't call, but I lost all control
And I need you now.
And I don't know how I can do without,
I just need you now.

Another shot of whiskey,
Can't stop looking at the door.
Wishing you'd come sweeping in the way you did before.

And I wonder if I ever cross your mind.
For me it happens all the time.

It's a quarter after one.
I'm a little drunk and I need you now.
Said I wouldn't call, but I lost all control
And I need you now.
And I don't know how I can do without,
I just need you now.

(Whoa Whoa)

Yes I'd rather hurt than feel nothing at all.

It's a quarter after one.
I'm all alone and I need you now.
And I said I wouldn't call,
But I'm a little drunk and I need you now.
And I don't know how I can do without,
I just need you now.
I just need you now.
Oh baby I need you now.

So we have this girl, the singer, who is drinking, and evidentially drunk as she's knocked photos on the floor trying to reach the phone to call somebody, doubtless her boyfriend.
We learn in the first chorus that it's 1:15 AM and evidentially the singer wet her pants, drunk people tend to loose control of their bladder, and needs the person she is calling to bring her some dry clothes. She can't do without dry clothes, I get that, nobody really wants to walk around in pants that they urinated in, especially if you did it while drunk, I've heard that after drinking, urine gets a very strong odor.
The singer goes on to let us know that she'd rather hurt than feel nothing at all, which pretty much is the most illogical thing in the world. I assume she'd also rather be heavily in debit than to have no money, or be freezing rather than comfortable, or starving rather than not being hungry or full. Maybe all the alcohol in her system is messing with her brain, making her want negative things rather than positive or neutral things.
The rest of the song is pretty much just repeating that the singer is drunk and wet her pants.
Honestly what were people thinking when they wrote this song, and what was the singer thinking when she sang it. Is there some hidden meaning that I'm just not getting?

P.S.
This was intended as satire, and was written in fun. The song probably really isn't about some girl peeing in her pants while drunk, but it sure sounds that way.
